Why Notes on MacBook Air cannot sync with iCloud content but Notes on my iPad/Iphones can?

I have tried to "refresh" the account by unchecking/checked on "Notes" on Mac System Preferences & Internet Accounts...but my problem persists.

MacBook Air, iOS 10.0.3

From the link:

Note: If you’re using upgraded iCloud notes, you see them on iCloud.com and your devices with iOS 9 or later and OS X v10.11 or later that use the same iCloud account. If you also have devices with earlier versions of iOS or OS X, you don’t see your upgraded iCloud notes on those devices.

If you’re not using upgraded iCloud notes, you see them on iCloud.com and all your iOS devices and Mac computers that use the same iCloud account. You can also view those iCloud notes in Microsoft Outlook on your Windows computer that uses the same iCloud account.

When compatible use Safari link to iCloud below

hi ckuan, this is helpful and you seem to be coming close to understanding my issue.

I am most likely in this scenario: "If you’re using upgraded iCloud notes, you see them on iCloud.com and your devices with iOS 9 or later and OS X v10.11 or later that use the same iCloud account. If you also have devices with earlier versions of iOS or OS X, you don’t see your upgraded iCloud notes on those devices."

My response: I am using upgraded iCloud notes for both my iPad and iPhone devices both running on iOS 10.0.2 and my most current notes content mirror that of the web-based iCloud.

Question: So how then do i go about pulling/syncing these content onto my Macbook Notes (version 3.3, 2011-2014) which runs on Mac System Version: OS X 10.10.5 (14F1912)?

Always make a backup, just in case.

Here's what you need:

Can your Mac use Sierra?

macOS Sierra requires one of the following Mac models and versions of OS X. It also requires at least 2GB of memory and 8.8GB of storage space.

  • iMac (Late 2009 or newer)
  • MacBook (Late 2009 or newer)
  • MacBook Pro (Mid 2010 or newer)
  • MacBook Air (Late 2010 or newer)
  • Mac mini (Mid 2010 or newer)
  • Mac Pro (Mid 2010 or newer)
  • OS X El Capitan v10.11
  • OS X Yosemite v10.10
  • OS X Mavericks v10.9
  • OS X Mountain Lion v10.8
  • OS X Lion v10.7

To find your model, memory, storage, and version of OS X, choose About This Mac from the Apple menu ().
